Technical Writing & Editing: $35-$40 per hour
When you have one chance to present your best work, consulting an independent editor is important. I will review your work and send you a free estimate. Proofreading may lead to substantial revisions to strengthen the structure, tone and rhythm of a written piece. I'll describe my approach before I start, and we can collaborate to rewrite your work if you choose.
I want to help bring your unfinished project into the light - articles for publication in popular, technical and academic papers, books, magazines, journals, patent and product descriptions, job applications, biographies, public affairs, and more.
If you choose to add visual information to the work, I will find the right graphic or photo to best represent your project.
Media Layout & Design: $35-$40 per hour
If visual information is your goal, the sky's the limit. I create flyers, posters, book jackets, t-shirt designs and infographics.
You can provide me with content or together we can choose photographs, illustrations and decide upon the right text.
I will research stock images and my own archives to find the look that best represents your goals. I work with Adobe Applications including InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Acrobat Pro. Output files include PDF, JPG, and TIFF formats.
Digital Photo & Video Editing: $35-$40 per hour
As a photographer who regularly shares his work, I'm experienced at optimizing digital images for presentation and publication. I can restore most damaged photos to their original appearance, including digitally removing dust and scratches, and making color and contrast adjustments.
I produce informational videos using Adobe Final Cut Pro, mixing narration, background music, still and video images, text and graphics to create short works that inform, entertain, and sell your idea or product. I will provide multiple finished file formats including .MOV, .MPG. Let's talk about how I can help you with your photo or video project.
Website Design & Go: $35-$40 per hour
Do you like the look and function of this website? I designed this and others using a "ready-made" or "plug and play" website server/host called Wix. Another leading host is named Weebly. Visit their websites and you can browse templates to see what your website can look like. Choose what features and "widgets" you want and don't want, including storefront and payment options for customers, social media links, messaging and email.
Wix and Weebly web-building applications make building websites relatively fast - within a week or less, depending upon the scope and content. I'm happy to build your website. You can then make your own website changes, or ask me to do so, including text and photo updates. I can help you become proficient at editing your own website with a little mentoring.
Assignment & Stock Photography: Varied Rates
My stock image collection consists of 5,000 images - most relate to wildland firefighting and the outdoors. Each year I add more images to www.spotfireimages.com. If you're a photo researcher seeking commercial, non-exclusive usage of high resolution images, my fees are based upon stock photo industry standards for size, placement, print-run/circulation, etc.
I license non-exclusive rights to my photographs, and I'm available for assignment photography including travel. My terms are negotiable, so please call or email me to discuss.
